About Me
-
Describe Yourself:I was fortunate to be able to grow up seeing America from varied viewpoints. My childhood was spent in Hawaii and Indonesia. After college I worked as a community organizer on the South side of Chicago focusing on improving living conditions in poor neighborhoods.
I came to understand that to truly solve the problems facing our communities, it would take a change in our laws and our politics. I ran and served for seven years in the Illinois state Senate, where I fought for expanding children's health care, providing tax cuts for the working poor and enacting welfare reform. In 2004, I was elected to the U.S. Senate, where I have worked to pass laws securing dangerous weapons and making government more accountable. I have also opposed the Iraq war from the start, and believe that we need to bring our troops home so we can refocus on the wider struggle against terrorism.
Of all my life experiences, I am most proud of my wife Michelle and my daughters Malia and Sasha.

I realize Mr. Obama doesn't have time to actually post here so whomever is is not making any friends deleting comments.

Happy Friday, Senator.
Hope your birthday was great in Chicago. Don't be too sad, for it shall be the last one spent there. The next birthday shall be spent in D.C., at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, or maybe you shall decide to go to Camp David or a similar place like that.

It's not a joke. I thought so at first myself, until I saw that the articles were being written by those on Senator Obama's staff, in other words, HIS writers.
I would highly recommend that -- before anyone do anything rash -- wisdom prevail -- and they confirm the authenticity of this page with the Obama for America campaign first. It isn't that hard to do. You may merely go to:
www.barackobama.com and pose your question.
You shall find that this site is quite legitimate, and that those here
are Senator Obama's authorized spokespeople.
It is nice, though, to know that so many are on the watch for imposters, and looking out for Senator Obama's best interests.
How nice, how very, very nice!

If this is a joke, it is a very poor one! To "pretend" to be Barak Obama is the highest form of idiocy not to mention idolatry! Are you so presumptious to assume that YOU speak for the Candidate. Are you as pompous and egotistical as to claim the Senator as your alter ego? Are you that much in need of an adoring, Obamaniac like following that you adopt his countenance and his persona. I will contact Gather to have you removed for this insult to the intelligence of the readers and writers who enter here.

I do not agree with presidential candidate Obama's every policy or strategy. There are many issues on which I have very strong disagreements with his stated opinions. What I do admire and appreciate is his attitude of serious thoughtful consideration with eyes on the big picture. Some hopehead rhetoric is not what he is offering, but serious reasoning and respect to bring hope to we who listen.
